Mary Odarkor (Turkson)
QUARCOOPOME
Also known as Man Naa or Mother Mame
Moda’ame was a direct sister of EOS (PapaNii Kakadang) and RO (PapaRoger) from the same mother.
Man Naa was quite special. She was tall and strong with a great personality that commanded respect. She was a leader among the woman folk and was a strong presence in family gatherings, such as Homowo celebrations, outdoorings, funerals and engagements.
I had a special relationship with her and would always go visit her when I was faced with difficult challenges that required sound advice. She was there for me in some difficult times. She was a rock.
She was married to Mr Turkson with whom she had 8 children
Family
Man Naa or Mother Mame was a strong and assertive woman. She had an imposing presence and was a true leader of the Quarcoopome woman-folk. She was well respected and appeared to be in the forefront of all large family events. She was approachable and always there to offer guidance whenever I sought her counsel in times of difculty. She understood and upheld our tradition our traditional values
