Elizabeth Achiawa
QUARCOOPOME
Also known as Maa Lizzie or KweiNye
KweiNye was a real lady. She was a direct sister of Uncle YA from the same mother. She did not live with us in Labour House but we saw her often at family gatherings.
She was married to Emmanuel Cofie Amugi Akushey, with whom she had eight children. Four sons and four daughters.
I remember Kweinye as the most gentle of our Aunties.

KweiNye was also affectionately called ManLizzie. She lived with her family at Dansoman.
OCCUPATION:
She was apparently a trader who went to Makola to trade.
She is survived by four children, Uncle Victor who heads the family, Auntie Vivian, Emma and Regina. Auntie Emma is a Nursing Sister at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. I was privileged to work with her as a Junior Surgeon in the Orthopaedic Ward at Korle Bu.
Bro Victor is a well respected family elder who plays a prominent leading role in most affairs and functions relating to both the Akushie and Quarcoopome families.
